Bonus episode with Reyna from Those Murder Girls Podcast
Dr. Hawley Harvey Crippen was an American homeopathic medical professional, and was married to Corinne “Cora” Crippen (neé Turner). Cora was a singer and actress, or at least wanted to be, and by all accounts was a gregarious and overbearing woman. The marriage was shaky at best, and soon Dr. Crippen fell in love with his secretary, Ethel LeNeve. When Cora later turned up missing, suspicions grew about Dr. Crippen. Feeling the heat, Crippen and LeNeve disguised themselves as father and son and boarded the SS Montrose bound for Quebec.
Captain Henry Kendall of the Montrose recognized the couple and used his newly installed Marconi wireless set to notify Scotland Yard of the couple. Crippen and LeNeve were arrested when they reached Quebec. Crippen was found guilty of murder, and was executed. Captain Kendall later became the captain of the Empress of Ireland, and died on his very first voyage with the ship when it was rammed by the Norwegian ship, Storstad.
